Step 1
Master the jab and cross punches separately. After you can throw strong single punches, you can move up to combinations. In boxing, a cross is a punch that comes across the body, while a jab is a quick snapping punch.

Step 2
Get into boxing stance with your right foot forward and your left foot back. Your weight should be evenly balanced.

Make a fist and bring your hands up to cheekbone level.

Snap your left arm out with a slight pivot of your hips and shoulders.

Rotate your shoulders so your extended palm is facing downward.

Step 6
Snap the jab back into ready position.

Step 7
As your jab snaps back, throw a strong right cross.

Bring your right hand back; both hands should now be at cheekbone level.
