Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Yoga mat
  1. Step 1

Stand in the starting mountain position. Balance your weight over both feet. As you begin to inhale, slowly move most of your weight over your right leg.

  2. Step 2

Continue to inhale while bending your left leg into the inner thigh of your right leg. If you cannot bring your leg all the way in, place it at knee level.

  3. Step 3

Place the palms of your hands together in front of you, slightly touching the middle of your chest.

  4. Step 4

Exhale. Continue to hold the tree pose, focusing on something straight ahead. As you hold, keep your hips straight. Hold this for 30 seconds or as long as you like.

  5. Step 5

Place the left leg back to the floor and return to the mountain pose.

  6. Step 6

Repeat Steps 1 through 4 on the other side of your body.
