The best place to get tire information for your car is the owner's manual that came with your car. However, if you do not have your vehicles owner's manual, there are some other places that you can access the information you need to replace your car's tires.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy
Step1
Look on the side wall of the tires on your car. The numbers indicated on the tire wall give you enough information to purchase appropriate replacement tires.
Step2
Check on the pillar post area of the car's front doors. Sometimes the manufacturer will put a sticker in that area which provides tire and vehicle load information.
Step3
Call a tire shop or a dealer for your make of car. They can tell you what size and type of tire fits your vehicle.

Tips & Warnings

  • The tread design of tires can be tailored to your specific driving conditions. Standard tread is intended for good weather conditions only. All-weather tires will perform in a variety of weather and road conditions. Snow tires are recommended for more severe weather conditions.
  • Tires should always be changed in pairs or all 4 at a time. Mixing different sizes and types of tires is not recommended and could lead to adverse performance. Replace any single tire with the same make, type and size tire as the others already on the vehicle.
