The V Step is a modification of the basic aerobics step. The V Step Right begins with the right foot as the first step onto the step bench or platform. Learning the V Step Right is easy, especially if you have already mastered the Basic Right step.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Stand with your feet together, facing the step bench. Stand about a foot away from the step.

  2. Step 2

Lead with your right foot. Step, heel first, wide onto the bench. Follow with your left foot, using another wide step. Place both heels onto the step bench first. Don't let any part of your foot hang off the bench. You should be standing with your feet spread apart so that your legs form a "V."

  3. Step 3

Step back down to the floor with the right foot, followed by the left. Your feet should come together centered on the floor in front of the bench. You are only in the V Step position on top of the step bench. When you step down bring your feet back together to the start position.

  4. Step 4

Practice the V Step Right by stepping up onto the bench until you are comfortable with the move. Do not alternate start legs. Continue to step up with the right leg each time.

  5. Step 5

Play music with a maximum tempo of 126 beats per minute to keep your movements smooth while raising your heart rate.
