Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Step bench
  1. Step 1

Check your step bench before beginning to be sure it is sturdy and stable. Make sure it is level and that the risers, if you are using any, are installed properly. You can purchase a bench and risers online at sites such as Amazon.

  2. Step 2

Measure your distance by placing one foot one behind the other away from the bench. Stand centered before the bench at a comfortable stepping distance away from the step.

  3. Step 3

Use your left foot to step onto the bench. Step wide left onto the bench, touching your heel first. Then step your right foot, heel first, onto the bench. Step wide to the right with the right foot.

  4. Step 4

Stand with both feet wide on the bench, making a "V." Do not step so wide that you are uncomfortable or end up standing too close to the edges of the bench.

  5. Step 5

Step off the bench with the left foot first, touching with your toes before placing your entire foot on the ground centered in front of the bench. Lower your right foot and placing your feet together and centered in front of the bench to complete the V step left.

  6. Step 6

Practice the V step left move.
