A Turn Step required more concentration and practice than many basic aerobic steps. However, beginners can learn this step quickly and include it in their routines to raise their fitness levels.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step1
Center your feet while facing the bench. Choose a lead leg. Stand about a foot from the step bench. For this example, the lead leg will be your right. If you're left leg is your normal lead leg, reverse the instructions.
Step2
Step wide onto the bench, heel first, with your right leg. Follow with the left leg, stepping wide left. Your legs should make a "V" once both feet are on the bench.
Step3
Step down with the right leg while turning your body clockwise. Place your right foot, toe to heel, on the ground towards the left side of the bench.
Step4
Lower your left foot to the ground, completing the turn, and place it next to your right foot. Your body is now parallel to the bench and you are facing towards the right.
Step5
Continue by leading with the left leg. You are now off to the left side. Step onto the bench, heel first, turning to face forward as you step up. Bring up the right foot and form the "V" stance.
Step6
Get off the step aerobics platform by turning slightly counterclockwise and placing your left foot, toe first, on the ground. Follow with your right foot. You are now facing the left side of the bench and standing parallel to it.
