A fairly complex step aerobics move to master is the L Step. It uses knee lifts and side stepping to create an "L" pattern. Use these steps to learn the L Step.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Things You’ll Need:

  • Aerobics bench

Step1
Face the step bench on the left side for a right lead leg. The concept of this step is to make a backwards "L" with your feet on the bench.
Step2
Step up with your right foot, heel firs,t onto the left side of the bench. While keeping your right foot on the platform, raise your left leg in a knee lift. This is the vertical line of the "L."
Step3
Place your left leg onto the ground beside the bench, toe first and then heel. Bring your right leg down to the left side of the platform. This completes the "L" with the horizontal line. You should be standing beside the bench.
Step4
Return to the bench. Step heel first onto the left side with your right foot. Lift your left knee and step backwards onto the floor to complete the left leg knee lift. Step down with your right foot to complete the step. You should be back facing the bench.
Step5
Master the L Step on your right side and then try it on the left. To do a left lead L Step, begin at the right corner of the bench. Step up with the left leg and knee lift the right leg. Step down beside the bench with your right foot followed by the left. Step onto the bench with your left foot. Knee lift your right leg and step backwards with the right foot, followed by the left.
