The Knee Straddle combines a knee lift with a straddle to create a challenging move. Use these steps to add the Knee Straddle to your aerobics routine.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Aerobics bench
  1. Step 1

Position yourself to one side of the bench. Face sideways instead of facing the bench. Use your right foot as the lead foot. Stand with your right foot nearest the platform.

  2. Step 2

Step up onto the bench, heel first, with your right foot. Raise the left foot in a knee lift and place the left foot back on the ground. Step the right foot toe first, down on the opposite side of the bench so you straddle the bench.

  3. Step 3

Use the left foot as the lead step. Step onto the bench with the left foot and execute a knee lift with your right foot. Immediately place the right foot back down and follow with the left foot on the opposite side. End the Knee Straddle with both feet together, facing sideways on the side of the bench.

  4. Step 4

Practice the Knee Straddle by continuing to alternate knees and straddling the bench instead of ending to one side. Straddle the bench between each knee lift.
