The Turn Step aerobic exercise is a dance-inspired step aerobic exercise that gets your heart-rate going and provides a good, low-impact cardiovascular workout. The turns in this exercise are a variation from the forward steps involved in other step aerobic exercises.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Position yourself next to the platform so that you are standing parallel to the long side of the platform. The outer side of your left foot should be next to the platform. You should be at one side of the platform so that you are forming a letter L with it.

  2. Step 2

Turn your hips toward the platform and put your left foot on the left edge of the platform. Bring your right foot up onto the platform and place it on the right edge so that both feet are on the platform and the outer sides of your feet are on the platform edges.

  3. Step 3

Rotate your body counter-clockwise, bringing your left foot down parallel with the platform. Bring your right foot down next to your left foot so that you are making a backwards L with the platform.

  4. Step 4

Repeat the move, going back the way you came. Turn your hips and place your right foot up on the platform, and then step up with your left foot and place it on the other edge. Rotate clockwise and put your right foot down on the floor parallel with the platform. Follow with your left foot, so you are back in your initial starting position.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use good posture when doing step aerobics. Hold your chest high and keep your abs tight.
