In the tap dance step known as "bells," you lift your legs at an angle and click your heels together. Your lower body, from the hips down to his feet, resembles a bell swinging side-to-side. This tap dance move is more about the look than the sound.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Stand with your legs shoulder-width apart.

  2. Step 2

Cross your right leg in front of of your left leg. Your upper body remains straight. Bend your knees to give the step some bounce.

  3. Step 3

Lift your left leg off the ground. It needs to reach diagonally to the side at a 45-degree angle. If the leg is lifted at too great an angle, your body shifts and you loose your balance.

  4. Step 4

Hop into the air with your right foot and click your heals together in the air. Don't hop too high at first. Gradually, your bells get higher.

  5. Step 5

Land on your right foot first. Keep your body straight. You can land with your feet separated at shoulder-width or in a closed position if you want to do multiple bells. Alternate doing the bells on your right and left sides.

  6. Step 6

Practice until you do the step fluidly. Start practicing slowly and gain speed as the step becomes easier.

Tips & Warnings
  • To do higher bells, leap higher into the air and click the heals together.
