Instructions
  1. Step 1

Start in the fighter's stance with one foot forward, one foot back, depending on if you're left or right handed. Balance the weight on both feet. Keep your arms at guard position and your chin tucked down. The For the jab, form a fist with the lead hand, extend the lead arm and rotate the knuckles so the palm of your lead hand faces down.

  2. Step 2

Snap the fist out to the target. As you throw the jab, turn your hip slightly and shift your weight to the front leg for maximum impact. Don't fully extend the arm. Recoil your arm and return to the fighter's stance.

  3. Step 3

After you throw the jab with the lead arm, fire a cross with the other arm. Follow a straight line from your shoulder toward the target. Shift the lead side of your body forward while the other side swivels back. Extend your arm toward the target, pivoting on the ball of the rear foot. Snap the fist out to the target in a horizontal motion. Don't overextend the elbow.

  4. Step 4

Resume the fighter's stance. Move your front fist to your rear shoulder and turn the upper body in the same direction. Deliver the fist in a whipping motion while turning the upper body. Make impact with the knuckles of the fist. Quickly recoil the hand and return to the starting position.
