How to Do a Four-Punch Combo Followed by Stomp Kick in Kickboxing

In competitive kickboxing, the four-punch combo followed by a stomp kick fired with speed and frequency can knock out your opponent. Here's how to employ the deadly combination.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Assume the correct fighter's stance, making sure to evenly distribute your weight on both legs. Keep your elbow and your chin tucked down.

  2. Step 2

    Aim your punch for the chest, the stomach or the head. As you throw the punch, turn the hips and pivot on the rear foot. Start throwing your punches at half speed, and then gradually work up to full speed. Before making contact, turn your fist so that your palm is facing the floor.

  3. Step 3

    Deliver 4 explosive punches to the the stomach, the chin, the lower jaw or the chest. Quickly return the fist to the starting position, and prepare for the stomp kick.

  4. Step 4

    Step back, leaving a safe distance between you and your opponent. Pull your front knee toward your upper body and point your front foot toward the target. Using your hips, push the stomp kick into your opponent. Make sure you turn the opposite leg slightly to the outside and lean your body slightly back.

  5. Step 5

    Strike with the ball of the foot for maximum impact. Return the knee to the upper body, before you bring the leg down to the floor. Quickly return to the fighter's stance in preparation for the next combo.

Tips & Warnings
  • A powerful punch on a sweet spot can result in an instant knockout.
  • To strengthen the toes, walk around the balls of your feet for a few minutes each day.
