Instructions
  1. Step 1

Fish the Gulf of Alaska May 15 through September 24, as this is the fishing season here.

  2. Step 2

Fly into Kodiak, Alaska. Then you can fly into your final destination along or in the Gulf of Alaska on a scheduled mail plane for a small price or on a chartered float plane.

  3. Step 3

Take plenty of medium sized orange pixies along with you during the silver salmon season, as this will net you your share of silver salmon. If you book your trip with a fishing guide or touring company, they will supply most of the bait you need. But you might want to take your own orange pixies to make sure you have more than enough.

  4. Step 4

Pay the set price per day per person for lodging, meals and guided fishing trips at the main lodge and private log cabin areas. Paying per day is the way to go. This allows you to have your fishing trip for as long as you'd like to go and allows you to know that everything is paid for and taken care of so you can just enjoy the fishing.

  5. Step 5

Bring your rods and reels, but equipment for deep sea, spinning and fly fishing are provided. You might want to bring your favorite salmon fishing rods and reels.

  6. Step 6

Ask your guide and lodging managers for your special requests here. The staffs along the Gulf are known for being accommodating.
