Yoga has gained so much in popularity that classes can be found in gyms all across the world these days. Whether you are practicing at home or styling in the yoga studio with the rest of the class, finding the right yoga clothes to buy and wear will not only help you look and feel good, you can also better perform the poses.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Yoga top
  • Yoga pants
  • Yoga shoes
  1. Step 1

Search stores and online for clothes that are made specifically for yoga. Also include in your search general workout clothes that might work for your yoga practice.

  2. Step 2

Research what the clothes you prefer are made of. Select those that are designed to wick moisture away from your body as you sweat. Organic cotton is a good choice.

  3. Step 3

Try on the different types of clothes you find. Pants and tighter fitting clothes are preferable so that you can do poses without worry of revealing too much of yourself. However, if you are more comfortable in shorts or looser clothing, wear those instead.

  4. Step 4

Make sure the clothes make it easy for you to move freely and feel comfortable. Attempt some yoga poses in the dressing room (or at home for online purchases), and make sure you can lift and stretch your arms as well as your legs.

  5. Step 5

Buy the yoga clothes that meet all the above criteria, but also those that make you feel good about how you look. The clothes should flatter your body type more than follow trends.

Tips & Warnings
  • Yoga shoes are now available for those who are uncomfortable performing yoga in bare feet.
