Instructions
  1. Step 1

Make sure you are dedicated to running the league. Running a college fantasy basketball league requires a great deal of work. You have to track down stats for every player from all over the internet. It is like running a fantasy league before the internet was around.

  2. Step 2

Establish the league rules. The most important decision to make when starting a college fantasy basketball league is who is eligible for the draft. A league can be restricted to Division I schools, certain Division I conferences or can include all of the NCAA. The wider the range of players to choose from, the more difficult it is to compile statistics. Another important issue to decide is how many players can be on a roster. The wider the range of players that you are selecting from, the larger the rosters need to be. With over 350 NCAA Division I men's basketball teams to choose from, if rosters are too shallow, every team can be full of stars.

  3. Step 3

Calculate the stats. You do have the internet to help, but you may have to go to every individual team page to get the stats you need. To run a college basketball league, someone must do a lot of work to enter stats to a spreadsheet or other format. This takes a great deal of time, commitment and effort.

  4. Step 4

Manage it like any other fantasy league. Ultimately, fantasy college basketball can be run just like any other fantasy league. Apart from locating and processing stats, there are the same issues and hurdles to overcome.
