Many utility programs for the computer provide ways to make the program easier to use. They will also allow the look of the program to be changed to be more pleasing to the user. Trillian is no different. There are many ways to customize it for your particular needs.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step1
Apply your favorite skin to Trillian and make it look the way you want. Skins can be obtained by choosing Trillian Preferences off the Trillian menu option. Select the option on the right side that reads "Change Trillian's Appearances." Select from the list of available skins. You can also set the colors of type, fonts used, and display styles.
Step2
Choose the Emoticons that you would like to have available for messages. From the Trillian Preferences page, choose the "Advanced" button. From this page, you can change the emoticons and sounds that are sent with your messages.
Step3
Change your notification styles with Trillian>Trillian Preferences>Notifications. This option gives you the ability to change the sound played if a contact comes online, goes offline, or sends you a message.
Step4
Set your status mode based on keyboard use, mouse movement, screen saver activity or make yourself invisible to the network of users.
Step5
Add the plug-in programs that you would like to have available. A mini-browser and WinAmp are but two of the types of plug-ins allowed within Trillian.

Tips & Warnings

  • Check back at the Trillian site often for upgrades and check the Trillian Preferences page to see any new skins and sounds that may be available.
