No matter how great the concepts for a music video, if you don't cast it properly, all of your good ideas are for naught. Casting isn't hard considering there are any number of people who are looking to break into the business, and music videos seem to be an easy route. Follow these simple steps and you'll have hundreds of hopefuls lined up for your video shoot.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Decide on the theme for the music video. You can't begin to cast a video until you're clear on what story the video will be telling and how many people you will need to tell that story.

  2. Step 2

Set the parameters for the actors and models you want to cast in the music video. Be as specific as possible. This will prevent too many of the wrong kind of people showing up for the casting call.

  3. Step 3

Schedule a date, time and location for the casting. You should make these decisions based on the schedule you have for getting the video done and the most optimal time to attract as many people as possible.

  4. Step 4

Contact casting and modeling agencies and let them know about the music video shoot so they can let their talent know and send them to your casting.

  5. Step 5

Hold an open casting call where those who aren't represented by agencies can come to audition for the video. The best way to handle those actors and models who are represented by an agency and those who are not is to set different times for each casting call.
