Celebrate a birthday with a surprise breakfast tray. A birthday breakfast tray should be served with as much humor and fun as possible. Surprise your birthday guy or gal by not only serving breakfast in bed, but doing the clean up too. Here are a few tips to help you serve a memorable birthday breakfast tray.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Serve fun and nostalgic food that the birthday kid ate as a child. Cocoa Puffs, Count Chocula or Captain Crunch are great foods that we remember as kids. Ask family members what he or she liked as a kid. Perhaps there was a special way to make eggs, like using a round glass to cut a hole in the middle of toast and placing an egg in the hole.

  2. Step 2

Use fun or nostalgic plates, dishes and cups. For example, if your birthday guy or gal is an Elvis fan, serve a peanut butter and banana sandwich on an Elvis plate.

  3. Step 3

Add fun and whimsical touches to the birthday breakfast tray. Try a "themed" breakfast tray; decorate the tray according to the interests of the birthday guy or gal. For example, a dancer's themed breakfast tray might include using a tutu as a placemat and a disco ball or rotating ballet dancer for decoration. A fisherman's birthday breakfast tray might include a fishnet as a placemat and new lures as decoration with a new bobber placed in a glass of juice.

  4. Step 4

Include a birthday card and a small gift on the birthday breakfast tray. Tie balloons to your wrist as you carry the tray then tie the balloons to the headboard of the bed for a festive look during breakfast.

  5. Step 5

Sing "Happy Birthday" as you enter the room with the birthday breakfast tray, no matter how awful you sing, the sound will bring a smile to their face and start the day off right.
