Blogging is a great way to make your voice heard and share your opinions on what's happening in the world, your life or to simply share your love for something with millions of others. However, if you want to be a power blogger, where blogging is your living, then there are several steps you'll need to take. Keep reading and you'll be on your way.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Find a niche. Blogs that are about a specific topic do better then blogs that are general in nature. The more targeted your topic the easier it will be to create a solid community of readers and to make your blog profitable.

  2. Step 2

Research your niche. Make sure you know everything there is to know about your topic of choice. Don't present yourself as an expert on a topic if you're not. Take the time to know the ins and outs of your blog's subject matter.

  3. Step 3

Generate tons of content. Content is king for all media and blogs in particular. People expect to visit several times a day and always find something new. So aim to post at least once a day but 20 to 30 new posts a week is ideal if you're looking to generate serious traffic through blogging.

  4. Step 4

Get your own domain. This isn't absolutely necessary but it can be helpful. People have successful blogs hosted on Wordpress and Blogger but if you're looking to create a solid blog identity then getting away from the free blog hosting sites may be the best move.

  5. Step 5

Locate the right revenue stream. There are many ways to generate income from a blog these days. Take the time to experiment and figure out which ones are right for you and the blog you've created.

  6. Step 6

Know your industry. Whatever your industry, make sure you know everything there is to know about what's new, what's hot and the latest releases. People will be coming to you for the latest news and if you don't deliver they will find another blog to read.

  7. Step 7

Blog on what you love. Constantly generating new content can be difficult to say the least. If you don't love what you're blogging about then that makes it near impossible to generate the kind of content you need to get the kind of traffic you want.
