How to Install the StumbleUpon Toolbar

StumbleUpon is an Internet browser social bookmarking toolbar which helps you find content you might like based upon how you rate other websites, your interests and how your social network of StumbleUpon friends have rated websites. The toolbar can be a fun way to discover new Internet content and share it with your friends, but first you must install it.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Open Internet Explorer or another web browser you want to install the StumbleUpon toolbar in. You can also install the toolbar in Mozilla Firefox and SeaMonkey.

  2. Step 2

    Go to the StumbleUpon website (see Resources below). From the website, click on the "Join StumbleUpon Today" button.

  3. Step 3

    Fill out the information. If you would like other people to find your StumbleUpon account and add you as a friend, put a check mark next to "Let friends find me by email." Then, click on the "Join and Download Now" button to join the StumbleUpon community and begin to install the toolbar.

  4. Step 4

    Click the "Save" button in the download options window which pops up. Choose a location on your hard drive, such as your desktop you can easily navigate to.

  5. Step 5

    Close the browser you plan to install the StumbleUpon toolbar in. Your browser must be closed before the toolbar can install.

  6. Step 6

    Find the file you downloaded to your hard drive. Click on the file and then click on the run button to start the installation. Follow the directions to install the StumbleUpon toolbar.

  7. Step 7

    Choose some types of websites you like to get started. Click the "Save My Settings" button. The StumbleUpon tool bar will now appear at the top of your browser.
