Unsightly fungus in your shower can be both annoying and disgusting. It's very important to clean fungus out of the shower for health and sanitary reasons. Although it's not the most fun household chore, cleaning fungus out of your shower doesn't have to be a difficult task.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Decide what you want to use to clean the fungus in the shower. You can purchase mold and mildew removers from home improvement stores, supermarkets or dollar stores. Or you can make your own fungus cleaner by mixing 1 cup of vinegar, 1 cup of ammonia, 1/2 cup of baking soda and 1-1/2 gallons of hot water.

  2. Step 2

Put on a pair of rubber gloves and apply the cleaner to the shower walls. Spray the shower head, the tub and between the tiles as well. Let the cleaner sit for a few minutes so it can effectively kill the fungus.

  3. Step 3

Use a sponge to scrub the entire area, focusing on places where the fungus is especially prominent.

  4. Step 4

Rinse the area well with very hot water. Rub the entire area with a clean towel after you rinse. Drying the shower is important because it prevents new fungus from growing in your clean shower.
