How to Make a Sunflower Wreath
For a fast and easy way to brighten up your door, a sunflower wreath can't be beat. Just follow the directions below and you'll have a beautiful gift or home decoration your family will enjoy for years to come.
Things You'll Need
- 9-inch willow wreath
- Scissors
- Bunch of caspia
- 7 to 9 Silk sunflowers
- Glue gun
- Sticks for glue gun
- 8-inch piece of yellow ribbon
Instructions
-
-
1
Cut 3 strips of raffia, each about 24 inches long.
-
2
Loop the raffia around the wreath, weaving the strips in and out. Try to keep the strands evenly spaced, and tie a bow at the end of each section.
-
-
3
Experiment with different sunflower arrangements before gluing them to the wreath. You can add them where the bows are placed, or just space them evenly throughout. The important thing is to make sure the sunflower wreath looks balanced, rather than concentrate the flowers in any one area.
-
4
Add the sunflowers by gluing them on with the gun. For more on this, see "How to Use a Glue Gun."
-
5
Place filler appropriately. Add caspia, more raffia or strawflowers behind the sunflowers and throughout your sunflower wreath. You can glue these when you've positioned them correctly. Tuck the stems behind the ribs of the wreath.
-
6
Create the hanging loop. Take a piece of yellow ribbon, insert it at the top of the wreath and knot it. Cut the ends for a tidy appearance.

Tips & Warnings
If you'd rather use 4 strands of raffia you may, just use the same procedure and make them a bit shorter.
