A snowboard stomp pad is an important yet simple component of the snowboard package. It allows you to clean snow from the bottom of your boot; but more importantly, it provides traction for your back foot when getting on and off a chair lift. Furthermore, it allows you to make your board unique, as many different stomp pads are available. Read on to learn more.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Put on your snowboard boots. Lay your snowboard on the floor and place your feet in the bindings.

  2. Step 2

Remove your rear foot, and place it on the board in front of the binding.

  3. Step 3

Wiggle around a bit and picture yourself pushing up to a ski lift. Place your free foot on the floor as though you where pushing your self along. Now, place it back on the board and find the spot where you would naturally put your foot.

  4. Step 4

Set the snowboard stomp pad where you had your foot last, and repeat Step 3 to check for proper, comfortable placement.

  5. Step 5

Mark where you put the snowboard stomp pad with tape or crayon.

  6. Step 6

Remove the backing from the bottom of the stomp pad to reveal the adhesive.

  7. Step 7

Stick the snowboard stomp pad to the board in the exact spot you marked. Press down firmly to ensure a proper hold.

Tips & Warnings
  • The most difficult part of installing a stomp pad might be deciding which one to use. Find one with a graphic you like, but make sure it is big enough to provide traction. The pad should look good and help keep your foot in place when you take it out of the binding.
