Snowboard boots are the connection between you and the board while you're sailing over the white powder on the slopes. Spend time searching for the perfect pair of snowboard boots. They're an essential part of the equipment necessary for snowboarding. Buy boots that fit properly, are durable, as well as offer both support and flexibility. Read on to learn more.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Go shopping in the afternoon when your feet are at their largest. Feet swell with the heat of snowboarding. Make sure the boots fit properly after an hour of boarding.

  2. Step 2

Decide on hard or soft boots by trying on a few pairs and seeing what feels best. Soft boots are the most popular as it's easier to walk in them. Ask about boot binding systems to help narrow down the choices.

  3. Step 3

Put on thick snowboarding socks. Loosen the outer and inner laces of the boot and put your foot inside. Tighten the laces making sure your feet still have circulation, and the boot is tied snug.

  4. Step 4

Walk around the store in the boots. Test to feel pain or stress in any area of the foot and try on a different pair of snowboard boots, if necessary.

  5. Step 5

Strap onto a set of bindings on a snowboard. Lean forward to make sure you're secure to the board, there's no slipping or lifting out of the boot.

Tips & Warnings
  • The boots should fit a little tight because the padding compresses after wearing them a couple times.
  • Do not buy boots that don't fit. Avoid a major cause of injury while snowboarding due to poor selction or wrong size boots.
