Inspiring the artist in your child is a fun and important part of her development. The best thing about inspiring art is that children are amazingly gifted at it. There are many things for a parent to keep in mind as they watch a child create and explore art in his or her life. Read on to learn more.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Never assume you know your child's talents. He is a constantly developing person that has the potential for many different skills.
Step2
Make artistic things part of her play. She will have just as much, if not more fun making and decorating a doll house or creating a play than using store bought toys.
Step3
Realize that art comes in many forms. Creating a comic book is just as stimulating and important as creating story and picture books. Dancing can be any type of body movement.
Step4
Think outside of the norm. Try not to place his creativity into a specific area or expertise. For example, modeling with clay may excite him because of the building and design, not his love of pottery and ceramics.
Step5
Allow her to think and plan her own way. It is perfectly normal if the grass is purple and the sky is orange during her creative play. A bear can become an ostrich or a pile of dirt can become a city in outer space.
Step6
Use things you already have at home to facilitate his artistry. An old pillow case can become a great cape or an old box can become a spaceship. Macaroni and beans make great art projects or musical instruments.

Tips & Warnings

  • Public libraries offer many programs each week that allow your child to be creative and artistic with other children.
