How to Make Troubled Skin Facial Toner

Whether you struggle with troubled skin as a teenager or as an adult, you can make your own facial toner that will help to alleviate acne and other skin eruptions. Making your own toner, allows you to experiment with different ingredients and customize your facial toner so that it works for your troubled skin. It will also save your skin from the harsh chemicals that are in so many store bought preparations. Read on to learn more.

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 cup distilled water
  • 1 tbsp. green tea leaves
  • 3 tsp. apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp. dried chamomile flowers
  • 1 tbsp. rose hyrdosol
  • 1 tbsp. aloe vera gel
  • Sterile glass jar, with lid

    Vinegar and Honey Facial Toner

  1. Step 1

    Mix the honey, rose water and apple cider vinegar together in a glass bowl. Stir until the honey is completely dissolved.

  2. Step 2

    Pour your "troubled skin facial toner" into the bottle and close it tightly. Store your toner either in the refrigerator (for a cool refreshing toner) or at room temperature.

  3. Step 3

    Smooth the toner on your face and neck after washing, with a cotton ball, and allow it to dry.

  5. Step 1

    Boil the distilled water. Remove it from the stove and add the dried green tea leaves and chamomile flowers.

  6. Step 2

    Steep for 15 minutes. Then strain out the leaves and flowers. Add the remaining ingredients and stir well.

  7. Step 3

    Pour into a sterile glass jar and close tightly. Shake well.

  8. Step 4

    Apply the toner to your skin, in gentle upward strokes, with a cotton ball.

  9. Step 5

    Store your "troubled skin toner tea" in the refrigerator and shake well before you use it. To obtain the best results, use the tea within 3 weeks.

Tips & Warnings
  • Cut back on the amount of apple cider vinegar in this recipe, if you find it too overpowering.
