How to Make Balancing Facial Toner

You wash your face every day and, depending on the cleanser that you use, you may be upsetting the pH balance of your skin. Facial toners can be used to restore your skin's natural pH balance and making your own balancing facial toner allows you to experiment with a variety of ingredients to find the ones that work best for you. Read on to learn more.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 4 oz. distilled water
  • 2 oz. each: rose hydrosol and green tea
  • 1 tsp. each: vegetable glycerin and apple cider vinegar
  • 10 drops lemon essential oil
  • 5 drops geranium essential oil

    Basic Balancing Facial Toner

  1. Step 1

    Mix the distilled water and the apple cider vinegar in a clean glass bowl. Stir well.

  2. Step 2

    Store your balancing facial toner in the bathroom and use it every day after you wash your face.

  3. Step 3

    Soak a cotton ball in the toner and gently wipe your face, using soft upward strokes.

  4. Lemon Geranium Balancing Facial Toner

  5. Step 1

    Measure the water, the rose hydrosol and the green tea into a glass mixing bowl. Stir the mixture well.

  6. Step 2

    Add the glycerin, vinegar and the essential oils to the boil. Stir to mix well.

  7. Step 3

    Pour the toner into a sterile glass bottle, close tightly and shake well.

  8. Step 4

    Soak a cotton ball in the toner and gently wipe your face, using soft upward strokes.

  9. Step 5

    Shake your lemon geranium balancing facial toner again, before using it.

Tips & Warnings
  • Avoid getting the toner in your eyes, as it will sting.
