Things You'll Need:
- Fresh watermelon
- Vodka
- Witch hazel
- Distilled water
- Bottles
- Cloth to strain
- Blender or food processor
- 1/2 lemon
- Refrigerator
-
Step 1
Crush enough watermelon to get 2 tbsp. of fresh juice. Make certain to strain to remove the pulp and the seeds. Add 1 tbsp. of vodka, 2 tbsp. of witch hazel and 2 tbsp. of distilled water to the watermelon juice. Pour into sterilized jars and refrigerate. To use the mixture, simply pour a small amount of the facial toner onto a cotton ball and gently stroke the face to clean and tighten pores. Rinse thoroughly. This mixture will keep one week.
-
Step 2
Vary the recipe by using a food processor to liquefy a cup of watermelon, including this seeds. They contain important omega 6 and omega 9 essential fatty acids, which can easily penetrate the skin. Strain the emulsion and mix 2 tbsp. of witch hazel and 2 tbsp. of water. Pour in a sterilized container and refrigerate. Pour onto a cotton ball for application. Rinse with cool water.
-
Step 3
Mix 2 tbsp. of watermelon juice with 2 tbsp. of distilled water and 1 tbsp. of vodka to help correct oily skin. Dip a cotton ball in the facial toner to apply and rinse with warm water. If you pour the remaining ingredients into a sterilized bottle it will last up to 10 days in the refrigerator.
-
Step 4
Make it simple by just use the juice of some watermelon chunks applied with a cotton ball directly to the face and allow it to sit for 20 minutes and work its miracle. Rinse with cold water.
-
Step 5
Squeeze the juice of 1/2 lemon over 1 slice of watermelon and refrigerate it for at least 20 minutes. Remove the watermelon slice and chop into fine bits. Place the melon on your face as a facial toner. It's messy, so use a towel. The recipe not only tightens pores and moisturizes but also will cool you down on a hot day. Rinse thoroughly with cool water.
