Kids love pretending they're someone else, which is why a theatre games birthday party is such a brilliant idea. You can let the children pretend to be whoever they want to be with little or no effort on your part. The trick to throwing this kind of party for your child is to stock up on props and have several theatre games in mind in case the kids get restless.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Create invitations. The invitation is the first thing people see and it sets the scene for your party. So go the extra mile and create something spectacular. Consider writing out the particulars in fancy calligraphy on nice paper, tied with velvet ribbon for a really great-looking invite. Or you could write out the information in the form of a script.

  2. Step 2

Provide plenty of props. To throw a theatre games party, you need plenty of theatre supplies. Dress-up is a must for this type of party, so gather hats, shoes, purses and various other garments and place them in a central location. When your guests arrive, instruct them to pick out a few clothing items to wear throughout the party.

  3. Step 3

Play theatre games. When the children are properly dressed, gather them together and start giving them ideas to act out. They can act like their favorite zoo animals, or perhaps have them imitate each other. A bit of improvisation is always fun, so use your imagination.

  4. Step 4

Take plenty of pictures. A theatre games birthday party is something that you'll want to remember, so take lots of pictures and video. That way you can cherish the event for years to come.
