How you buy rodeo tickets depends on what type of rodeo you want to attend. Large rodeos that feature professional rodeo cowboys and cowgirls often offer tickets online. Smaller local rodeos typically only offer tickets at the door the day of the rodeo. Read on to learn how to buy rodeo tickets.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Rodeo schedule
  • Credit card (to buy tickets online)

Locate and Buy Rodeo Tickets

Step1
Visit your local rodeo venue and get a rodeo schedule. While rodeos are put on throughout the year, they are more common in the summer months. Ask the venue about discounts for pre-season ticket buyers.
Step2
Tour the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association's website (see Resources below). The PRCA is the governing body for the vast majority of large rodeos in the United States, and you can find schedules of rodeos in every circuit on its website.
Step3
Locate a rodeo that interests you on the PRCA website and scroll across to the link at the end of the line. Click on this link to go to the website for that specific rodeo. Ticketing information is usually available on the rodeo home site.
Step4
Check out that ubiquitous ticket merchant, Ticketmaster (see Resources below). Like many other events across the country, Ticketmaster sells tickets to many of America's professional and non-professional rodeos.
Step5
Browse rodeo tickets on the Ticketmaster website by first clicking on the "Sports" button. Next, select the "Rodeo/Bull Riding" link. This will take you to a list of those upcoming rodeos for which Ticketmaster sells tickets.
Step6
Get a large group of rodeo fans together before you buy your tickets. Rodeos often offer discounted tickets to groups of 20 or more people. You can also save money on parking when you carpool with your group.
Step7
Watch your local newspaper for discount ticket offers prior to the rodeo. Coupons on rodeo admission are especially common when the rodeo is being held as part of your state or county fair.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you want to see several rodeos at your local venue, you may want to buy season passes. Season passes are typically less expensive on a per rodeo basis, so you can save money overall.
  • If you buy tickets from a Ticketmaster location, you may be able to avoid paying the online service charge.
  • Rodeo tickets are not available directly from the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association.
