I enjoy eating fried fish, especially when I make them. Sometimes I like them coated in salt and flour, sometimes I just like them plain. But after having cooked my fish meal, there's always that undesirable smell that lingers when you're all done with the dishes and relaxing in your apartment. This How-To will tell you the trick in keeping your space smelling fresh and not fishy.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging

Things You’ll Need:

  • Scented candles
  • matches
  • fan
Step1
Purchase a strong scented candle, preferrably a tea candle made by Glade, so it extinguishes on its own when used up.
Step2
Before cooking, light two to four scented tea candles or one in the jar, and place it five feet from an oscillating fan.
Step3
Open the windows and keep the air flow circulating by having the oscillating fan on the opposite side of the kitchen windows.
Step4
Close all bedroom doors!
Step5
Then Fry away!
Step6
Keep the scented candles burning until a few hours you're done eating or washing dishes.

Tips & Warnings

  • Keep a fire extinguisher in the kitchen at all times! Check the expiration as instructed on the label of the fire extinguisher.
  • Do not light any more candles than what you can keep an eye on.
