How to Affix a Flag Pole to the Roof of a House

Racking your brain thinking about how you are supposed to get that flag to stay on your roof top? It's quite easier than you might think!

Things You’ll Need:

• Flag of your choice
• Flagpole to mount said flag
• Roof mounting bracket
• Screwdriver and screws
• Ladder
• No fear of heights

1. Flat roof mount for flagpole You might need to order a special mounting bracket for your flagpole. There are quite a few available at http://www.gettysburgflag.com/Flag_Pole_Bracket.php. It just depends exactly where on your roof you want to mount the flagpole (i.e. peak of roof, flat surface of roof, etc.).
2. Avoid windy days to mount flags! Carefully place ladder and climb onto roof. Position the flagpole with bracket where you wish and use a pencil or marker to mark the screw holes of the bracket.
3. Screw it tight! Remove the flagpole from the bracket. Align bracket with the marks you made and screw into place.
4. Yes you can see! Insert flagpole with flag and secure with pin. Enjoy your easily mounted flag!

Tips & Warnings

• Avoid windy days since this may tend to knock you around the roof!
• Have someone spot the position of the flag from the ground before final placement of the bracket!
• Buy a flag kit that comes with the mounting bracket to save time!
