Things You'll Need:
- Computer with internet access
- Local fliers or newspapers
-
Step 1
Store Sales: Keep an eye out for sales at your local craft stores. Visit them online, get a copy of their weekly in-store flier, and don't be afraid to call and ask for their major specials. Don't forget about your locally owned craft stores too. They may have some great sales going on to boost their business.
-
Step 2
Online Auctions: You will be surprised at how many people are selling their craft supplies either because they "tried it and didn't like it" or "can't find the time to use them". You will also find items up for auction from people who are going out of business and are selling their craft supplies.
-
Step 3
Newspapers: Check your local news paper (or a friend who has a subscription) for craft store fliers. Sometimes you can find awesome coupons for your favorite craft store. Also, look out for advertised yard sales!
-
Step 4
Improvise: Ask yourself if this is something you really need. If you are pretty good at drawing or painting, do you really need to buy rubber stamps? If you are cutting out simple shapes use an X-Acto knife instead of a die-cutter. Learn to use simple embellishments instead of expensive ones.
