This article will explain a very simple way to hypnotize a chicken. It's very entertaining and straight forward.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Live chicken
  • stick or finger
  • Courage
Step1
First you must catch the chicken. Be careful they can be quite defensive. also be sure to take care with it. It IS a live animal after all.
Step2
Gently hold the chicken' s head near the ground, so that it is looking along the ground towards the horizon line. Be sure to hold the chickens body to prevent self-injury or escape.
Step3
Take a stick, or finger, and draw a line outward from near the end of the chickens beak directly away from the chicken. 12 to 18 inches is a good length, and the line needs to be straight as possible.
Step4
Continue to draw the line about 25-30 times or until you feel the chicken go slightly limp.
Step5
Once the chicken goes limp it will stay that way for about 10 to 15 minutes.

Tips & Warnings

  • This trick is used by some farmers to prevent chickens from running away during 'harvest' time.
  • It is also helpful when it is necessary to inspect a chicken that has been damaged or one that is ill.
  • It works because of ocular fixation. Once the chickens eyes lock on to some thing, ALL of it's attention becomes focused on that one thing.
  • it may be easier to have some one help you either draw the line or hold the chicken, because doing both is a little difficult.
  • Chickens can cause bodily harm
  • Wear protective gear such as gloves, eye protection, pants, long sleeve shirt or jacket.
  • Tie back all loose clothing and especially hair
  • Be gentle with the chicken, they are delicate.
