Carbon emissions need to be reduced. At least that's what we're being told. Each of us contributes to the whole picture, and each of us can do small things to help.

Difficulty: Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • As noted in text.
  1. Step 1

Don't drive your car, truck, SUV, RV, or other carbon-emitting equipment for at least one day each month. Reducing the burning of fossil-fuels helps us all.

  2. Step 2

Your chosen day does not have to be the same day every month. It can be varied if necessary, as long as it is constant and repeated every month.

  3. Step 3

Committing to no-driving for one day each month will make a significant contribution in the overall carbon-emissions issue, if we all participate.

  4. Step 4

If you cannot pick one day each month, try for one day every other month, or whatever other schedule you can live with.

  5. Step 5

Spread the word to others so carbon emissions can be reduced on a grander scale. We all know it takes commitment from all of us.

on 2/3/2009 Hello W1Z111, Congratulations on being the featured eHow member of the day! Also thanks for the response to my comment. I just get really irked with causes that are completely political agenda driven. Pretty soon they will try to charge us for the CO2 emissions emitted from breathing. You make a good point in your article about driving less and burning less fossil fuels. It is the right thing to do.

on 2/2/2009 Hi, Kimi...yeah, I know; there are several viewpoints regarding these things, and all have viable and believable points. Nobody really seems to know the real Truth; except perhaps Mother Nature (God)!
Thx for the feedback!

on 2/2/2009 We should always be good stewards of the earth, but please do not fall for the hype. Read both sides of the argument because the debate is not over.

on 4/7/2008 Ahh...yes! Isn't that the sad truth of it all! But, I am not quite willing to sit that still about it, myself. I realize exploitation is what it's about, and I realize just one voice cannot accomplish much, but I also realize the power of the forces of Good...even against the most impossible odds! And, I realize the power of communication; that is, one voice leads to two voices, which leads to three and four voices, and on and on it can go. Besides...I just love writing this stuff!!
Thanks for your feedback!
