With your baby growing so quickly, you must preserve these precious memories. Save money on expensive photographers by taking the photos yourself. Here's how to prepare in advance for your photography sessions.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step1
Keep a camera with fresh batteries on hand at all times. Put a disposable camera in the diaper bag or in your purse.
Step2
Plan to take photos around baby's schedule. Make sure your baby is fed, bathed, well rested and happy.
Step3
Dress your baby in light-colored clothes with minimal pattern. Let the picture focus on the baby and not on his clothes.
Step4
Take pictures in natural light. Take pictures in the early morning or right at sunset for best results. Keep baby out of direct light to keep her from squinting.
Step5
Drape a soft-colored blanket or piece of material over your baby's carrier or on top of whatever surface you put the baby on. Use solid blankets or material and avoid patterns.
Step6
Focus on baby's face. Enlist someone to help you make baby smile. Take candid shots of your baby while she's sleeping, yawning or laughing.
