This is a fun but challenging skill to learn. If accomplished successfully it can be used in many gymnastics routines, such as on the balance beam and in floor exercises. Practice makes perfect.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step1
Begin by performing a handstand. To do a handstand lunge with one foot forward and propel the body toward a wall.
Step2
Allow your feet to fall slowly from the handstand position into a bridge position. To accomplish this push into handstand with legs in a split position. Arch over, landing on one leg.
Step3
Rock to get up on all fours with stomach in the air.
Step4
Watch hands at all times during this exercise and use arms to stand up.
Step5
Work up to the point where you are doing the whole thing without stopping.
Step6
Learn to do a front walkover on your own first before trying to teach anyone else. It will make it easier for children to learn if they watch someone else go through the steps first.
Step7
Practice, practice, practice.
