Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Find a place to take a cooking class--try your local learning annex, community college or city-sponsored class. Other great places to look are local kitchen stores, adult education classes and your local county extension office.

  2. Step 2

Determine the class that interests you. They may be offering different technique classes and different skill levels. Find the class that is of most interest at your skill level.

  3. Step 3

Sign up for your cooking lesson. Ask any questions you may have. Be sure to find out what you may need to bring to class. Prepare to spend money in lab fees and that can get expensive.

  4. Step 4

Attend your cooking lesson. This is the fun part. Here you will actually be learning new skills and techniques. Pay close attention to the instructor and take notes as needed.

  5. Step 5

Ask your teacher plenty of questions. They are there to help you learn the methods. Address any difficulties you are having with them. They can give you tips and advice on how to master your new cooking skill.

  6. Step 6

Practice what you have learned in class. Practicing helps you refine the new skills you have learned. You may even want to invite friends over and share with them your new cooking skill.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can take cooking lessons virtually. These lessons include videos and class handouts. These are great alternatives if you can not attend a cooking lesson in person.
