With the rising demand for plastic surgery, skin treatments and other procedures, it's no surprise that the demand for at-home versions of some of these treatments is also increasing. Home chemical peel kits can be used to treat a variety of skin conditions including acne, wrinkles and age spots.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step1
Analyze your needs. This shouldn't be difficult because most people want to get a peel to address a specific problem with their skin. But, by clearly addressing what you would like to get from your peel--like clearing acne or reducing the look of fine lines--it's easier to shop for a product.
Step2
Find out what active ingredients you should be looking for in your at-home chemical peel kit. Different ingredients will be used for different skin conditions. For example, lactic acid is used to address hyperpigmentation problems while salicylic acid is used for acne problems.
Step3
Take other skin problems into consideration. If you have extremely sensitive skin, you might want to consider a non-chemical enzyme peel. If your skin is oily, make sure your are using a peel appropriate for oily skin.
Step4
Look for a product. Your dermatologist might be able to recommend a peel for you, and many pharmacies and spas carry take-home versions of the product they use. Other places to shop are drugstores, discount stores and department stores. You can find more specialized products online as well.
