Instructions

    • 1

Trim your fingernails before putting on your swim cap to avoid tearing the cap.

    • 2

Keep your hair free of hair pins, clips or barrettes when wearing a swim cap. These items are sharp and can puncture the cap.

    • 3

Rinse your swim cap with cool non-chlorinated water after each use.

    • 4

Wipe the inside and outside of your swim cap with a towel.

    • 5

Open your swim cap and sprinkle baby powder inside. Spread the powder evenly throughout the inside of the cap to keep the sides from sticking together.

    • 6

Store your swim cap away from direct sunlight. Direct sunlight will fade the color and shorten the life of your swim cap.

Tips & Warnings

  • Latex swim caps are the most popular swim cap choice, but if you have a latex allergy, silicon swim caps are a good substitute.

  • You should keep baby powder in your swim bag to put in your cap after use. Your cap may already be stuck together by the time you get home from the pool.

  • It is always a good idea to keep an extra swim cap in your bag in case your cap rips or gets punctured during use.

  • Swimmers with long hair may choose to use a Lycra swim cap. To care for a Lycra swim cap, you should rinse with cool, non-chlorinated water and hang the cap to dry after each use.
