How to Create Intimacy Without Sex

In a loving relationship, the most certain route to intimacy is often sex. But sometimes sex isn't in the cards. There can be moral or medical reasons why intercourse is off limits. Or perhaps an affair has made your spouse put sex on strike. Whatever the reason, if you're not having sex, you still can enjoy the pleasure of intimacy. It just takes a little work.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

Be physically close. Massages, cuddling on the couch while watching a movie, giving your wife a pedicure or buffing your husband's nails, are all ways to achieve intimacy. Be kind to each other.

  2. Step 2

Make out like teenagers. Go on dates and then steam up the car windows. This adds a delicious layer of excitement to your relationship that might actually be more erotic than routine intercourse.

  3. Step 3

Hold hands and never forget to kiss each other goodnight. These simple ways of remaining physically close are especially important when there's no sex.

  4. Step 4

Be emotionally intimate. Write each other love letters. Notice the subtle things that make your spouse attractive and tell him all about it. Buy him special, thoughtful gifts.

  5. Step 5

Rethink your reasons for not wanting to have sex after you've completed these other steps. If there's a medical reason, consult your doctor. If it's for religious reasons, continue to uphold them. But if it's for another reason, decide whether you want to live without sex after achieving intimacy from these other methods.
