Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Realize that you won't work this job indefinitely. It's only a stepping stone to bigger and better things.
Step2
Determine if your boss and co-workers make the work environment better or worse. Even the most menial job can have its pleasant moments if you get along with co-workers. If you're surrounded by a tyrant boss and lazy co-workers, keep your cool and maintain your dignity. Stand your ground if you feel you've been treated unfairly on the job.
Step3
Prepare yourself psychologically for the inevitable fast food "rush hours" like lunch or dinner. Concentrate on filling orders and helping customers and the time will go by much faster.
Step4
Follow the company or franchise rules to the letter. There's a reason headquarters wants workers to put 4 pickles on a burger instead of 3. The company is paying your salary; do it their way.
Step5
Get plenty of sleep and eat right, but not necessarily the fast food. On-the-job pressure won't bother you as much if you're fully rested and don't skip meals.
Step6
Look for another job if you're really unsatisfied. There's plenty of work out there, and it will only be a matter of time before you find another position.

on 5/9/2008 Salary? I think you mean hourly wage. It is work that can be done well and easily by someone who is fast, efficient, and able to multitask. The rushes in fast food work are only a preparation for harder, more demanding work in the future. Although it is demeaning and demanding work, never underestimate what you learn! If you are oriented toward the future, do this kind of work while you are in high school for 1 to 2 years. You now have some customer service experience. Now you are prepared for internships or part-time positions that are more rewarding and more fruitful. These secondary positions will prepare you for a solid career in your field.
Remember, the worst thing you can do is try to survive! Don't do that! Try to become what you want!
