With Mozilla Thunderbird email client, you can design mailing lists for personal contacts, business contacts or any combination of email addresses. Follow these directions, and you can send email to your own mailing list.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Open the Thunderbird email client program. Find the "Mail" toolbar. It contains large square buttons including "Get Mail," "Write" and "Address Book."

  2. Step 2

Click on the "Address Book." Select "New List" from the toolbar. It opens a "Mailing List" dialog box.

  3. Step 3

Choose which address book you want to add the new address to from the dropdown menu on the dialog box. You may only have one address book set up, or you may have multiple address books.

  4. Step 4

Add information in the appropriate fields. You need a list name, a list nickname, a list description and all the email addresses you wish to include in your mailing list. When you finish, click "OK." The "Mailing List" dialog box closes.

  5. Step 5

Keep names of those recipients who wish to remain anonymous from group mailings in a separate mailing list. Repeat the above steps for those email addresses. Send their emails as blind carbon copies (BCC) when you use your mailing list.

  6. Step 6

Edit names in your mailing list by adding or removing names and addresses. Click on the name in the address book. Drag and drop the name into the mailing list.

  7. Step 7

Check for errors. Edit or delete problem entries, and click "OK" to save the mailing list.
