How to Create a Lavender Relax Spray

The use of lavender as a healing plant has been traced back to the ancient Egyptians, who scented their bath water with the fresh lavender blossoms. Lavender is not only a beautiful plant to grow in your garden, its aromatic properties are widely used to relieve stress and anxiety and promote relaxation.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • 2 tsp. witch hazel or vodka
  • 6 to 24 drops of essential lavender oil
  • 10 tsp. distilled water
  • Glass bottle
  • Fresh lavender stems
  • 24 oz. distilled water
  • Vodka

Lavender Relax Spray

Step1
Rinse the atomizer with distilled water.
Step2
Place the essential oil in the atomizer and add the vodka or witch hazel.
Step3
Add the water to the mixture and shake it gently to mix.
Step4
The spray is ready to use when. Shake before each use. Recipe makes 2 oz.

Relaxing Fresh Lavender Spritz

Step1
Put several fresh lavender stems into the bottle.
Step2
Cover the stems with the vodka.
Step3
Put the bottle on a sunny window sill for several days, until the lavender scent has infused the vodka.
Step4
Mix the lavender infusion with distilled water and use to scent your pillowcases for a relaxing nights' sleep.

Tips & Warnings

  • To make a lovely homemade gift, put some spray or spritz in a pretty atomizer and tie a lavender ribbon around the neck.
  • Don't put Lavender Relax Spray on fabric, as it stain. The Relaxing Fresh Lavender Spritz can safely be sprayed on most fabrics.
