Gmail is great for many things. The capacity for stored mail is enormous, the ability to add photos to your people list is fun, and you can recruit friends and family to join you on Gmail. These are the perks, but sometimes it can be a bit difficult to find the right way to change a Gmail password. Once you learn the steps though, it is easy as pie.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

Log into your Gmail account. Go into your account the way you normally do with your user name and password.

  2. Step 2

Go to "Google Settings." There are boxes at the top that indicate different areas of your Gmail account. Up next to your email address in the top right, there is a blue bar marked "Settings." Choose this option first to change a Gmail password.

  3. Step 3

Click on the "Accounts" tab. Once you are in the orange settings folder, the Accounts tab is right next to the "General" tab at the top. Click on this option and it will take you to a new page. This new window will open and show a white background with your services listed toward the right.

  4. Step 4

Look for a "Personal Information" option. Choose the option for "Change Password." Under the personal information tab to the left, the system will show your gmail address, country and time zone. Below this it shows an option to change a Gmail password. Select this option.

  5. Step 5

Enter in current password then your new password. You will be prompted to enter your current password or answer your security question. Choose one and enter in your answer. Under this prompt, enter in your new password twice and click on "Save."

  6. Step 6

Wait for the confirmation. There will appear a new screen when your password change has been successful. It will show a line at the top that states your password has been changed. Once you see this line, you can close the window and you are done.
