How to Apply Makeup in Five Minutes

Makeup can disguise blemishes, play up your best features and give you confidence even on days when your hairstyle isn't cooperating. But when you don't have much time to spare, you have to choose your products carefully. Here's how to apply makeup in 5 minutes or less.

1. Moisturize. Dry skin won't hold any kind of make up well, so keep your complexion dewy with your favorite face cream, preferrably with some SPF mixed in for sun protection.
2. Cover pimples and dark circles under your eyes with a concealer. You can use a concealer stick, cream or even artfully applied foundation powder. When you're in a hurry, the stick can be fastest.
3. Apply foundation, either loose pressed mineral powder or a liquid. Check in natural sunlight to make sure you've blended properly at the jawline.
4. Brush on some blush or bronzer to give your face some color. Liquid blush or cream blush is an option. When you don't have time to spare, stick with a powder.
5. Define your eyes. You probably don't have time to line, apply mascara, brush on eye shadow and then pencil your brows, so pick one or two techniques to improve the look of your eyes. Most women benefit from a coat of mascara, so this is probably a safe bet if you're in a hurry.
6. Line your lips and then apply a gloss or lipstick. A clear gloss mixed with a natural looking liner is perfect for every day. This technique is pretty much fail-proof.
7. Add some sheer pressed mineral powder to set your look with the perfect finishing touch.
