How to Groom Sisterlocks
So, you've taken the plunge and opted for sisterlocks. You've grown tired of treating your hair with chemicals and heat and decided to try a more natural style. Besides being a beautiful and unique hairstyle choice, sisterlocks are easy to groom and can be arranged in as many styles as you can imagine. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Band and braid your sisterlocks before shampooing your hair. Use hair bands or braids to group bunches of locks together to avoid having all of your locks tangle together. Use an herbal shampoo to gently shampoo your locks.
-
2
Spritz your locks with water. This will bring lint to the surface so you can remove it and also help "lock" your locks and keep them from unraveling.
-
-
3
Use scalp oils to add shine to your locks, kill bacteria and soothe an itchy scalp. Rosemary, sage, jojoba and almond are some of the most popular oils.
-
4
Make an appointment with your stylist to have your sisterlocks re-tightened occasionally.
-
5
Style your sisterlocks however you like. Curl, twist, pin or wear straight, there are no limits to how you can arrange your locks.

Tips & Warnings
Press the water out of your locks after carefully shampooing and rinsing your hair. Be very gentle.
Never use a curling iron on your sisterlocks. Heated irons may permanently straighten or press your sisterlocks.
Avoid using pomades, hair grease, Vaseline or other petroleum-based hair preparations on your locked hair. These can be very difficult to wash out.
