If you are in charge of coming up with the strategy for the defense on your flag football team, there are many aspects you should consider when coming up with the design. Flag football offenses can be very complex, so a flag football defense has to be ready for anything. After completing a few steps, you will learn how to design a flag football team.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step1
Consider the strengths of the players on your team. Figure out which players on your team are the fastest and which are the strongest. On the other hand, take note of which players are limited in both strength and speed. Understanding your personnel is perhaps the most vital part of designing a winning flag football defense. Once you understand your strengths and weaknesses, you can play to your strengths and try to cover up weaknesses.
Step2
Put the fastest players on the outside of your defense and have those players guard the opposing team's wide receivers. Flag football is usually a high-powered offensive shootout that features a lot of passing. For the reason, you need to have your fastest players on the opposing team's wide receivers.
Step3
Place the strongest players at the line of scrimmage across from the quarterback. Rushing the quarterback is a good way to disrupt a flag football offense. Strong players should be able to shed blockers quickly and get at a quarterback.
Step4
Instruct the remaining players to zone a certain section of the field. Instead of having the slower or weaker players try to guard an opposing player one on one, have those players defend a certain section of the field. This works best if you instruct these players to defend the middle of the field. They should also be aware of any blockers who become eligible receivers.
Step5
Mix up your defensive looks. The best flag football defenses are the defenses that are unpredictable. Change who is rushing the quarterback as often as possible. Also remember to rotate fresh players in to keep your defense playing at its best.
