How to Make Raspberry Cider

One of the best things about the change of seasons, from summer's heat to the crisp, cool days of autumn days, is a cup of hot, fresh apple cider on a chilly day. The addition of raspberry adds a tangy flavor and a lovely reddish hue to this old favorite.

Things You'll Need:

  • 8 cups apple cider
  • 1 cup frozen raspberry juice
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 2 cups orange liqueur

    Hot Raspberry Cider

  1. Step 1

    Mix the raspberry juice, apple cider and sugar in a saucepan. Heat the mixture over medium heat until it simmers, stirring occasionally.

  2. Step 2

    Reduce heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes.

  3. Step 3

    Remove the mixture from heat and remove the cinnamon stick.

  4. Step 4

    Serve hot in heavy mugs. This recipe makes 8 servings.

  5. Hot Mulled Raspberry Cider

    Mix the apple cider and jam in a saucepan over medium heat.

  7. Step 2

    Stir until the jam dissolves, and simmer until cider is hot.

    Add the lemon juice.

    Serve in heavy mugs and garnish each with a cinnamon stick.

    Combine the apple cider, raspberry juice, sugar and cinnamon sticks in a saucepan over medium heat.

    Pour mixture into hot mugs and add 2 oz. of orange liqueur to each mug. This recipe makes 8 servings.

Tips & Warnings
  • Fresh apple cider tastes best, but if fresh cider is out of season, canned or frozen cider can be substituted.
  • Make a quick and easy raspberry punch by mixing ½ gallon of apple cider, 1 cup of frozen raspberry juice and two bottles of ginger ale. Simply mix and serve over ice.
