How to Be in Military Intelligence
Military intelligence is the occupation that specializes in the gathering and interpretation of intelligence. It has a key role in all military movements and commands. Being a part of the military intelligence command is a prestigious roll. Military intelligence, MI, is in all branches of the Military.

Determine what branch of the service you want to be part. The Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force and Coast Guard all have military intelligence specialties.

Contact a recruiter for the branch of service you have chosen. They will give you any additional information and should be able to answer any questions that you may have.

Take the ASVAB. The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery is the test all potential enlisted members of the military take before joining. Your scores will determine if you qualify for jobs in the military intelligence field.

Schedule a trip to your local MEPS center. Military Entrance Processing Stations are located in various places around the United States. You will take a physical and speak to a guidance counselor.

Choose the job in military intelligence that you desire. ASVAB scores and available jobs determine what you are offered. You may have to make more than one visit to get the exact job that you want.

Enlist in the service you've selected for the military intelligence job you want. You will take an oath of enlistment. You are then part of that military service.

Attend basic training and the specialized training for your job. The military provides all the training that you will need to become proficient in military intelligence. When you graduate, you are part of the military intelligence field.

Consider going into the military as an officer. You will need a four year college degree. There are also military intelligence jobs for officers.
